When I'm with you
I forget the world
I forget all my worries
Adrift in the moment
Cherish every single second
For these don't come often

High as a bird
Nothing troubles me
Just content
Because you are with me
Seeing your smile
Your frown
Your glazed eyes
The way your lips naturally pout
Feeling the music
It's euphoric
Just for a moment you are mine

But that euphoria soon implodes
And reality sinks in
I'm not your first, second or third
Yet I will do at least for the night
Better than coffee or tea
A wakeful, unrequited love
That's you
