Exposure Poem by Poetry Falcon

Exposure

In 2009 I dated an addict
Who cheated on me
With a girl who'd sell herself
For a single bar

They went unnoticed
I must applaud them
I was too consumed with work
And our daughter's absence

Until that one day
When he asked me to help clean his car
In the backseat a shirt, a simple cup
Exposed his filthiness

Fast forward to 2017
You think I would learn by now
Picking those men
The ones that break your heart

I left him the keys to my house
His secret getaway
I warned him of my past
He said he never would

Believed him for a moment
But days later I would find an earring
Under my coffee table
Exposing my stupidness
