Eternal Bliss Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Eternal Bliss

Closing eyes
A routine for all
Extended closing
Night when asleep
Closing eyes when
Feeling tired
Blink's closure
For tenth of a second
Once every
Four seconds
Lids and eyes
Need irrigation
Tears serving
As lubricant.

Closing eyes
We keep on doing
Without knowing
That we do so
Extended reading
Or viewing the screen
With blink rate slowed
Eyes get tired
Burning sensation
Develops in eyes.

Consciously
With eyes closed
If one can spend
A relaxed time
Just for a period
Of a minute or two
And let mind wander
And capture the thoughts
That keep escaping
Without our knowledge
We can master
Many things
And reach a state
Of eternal bliss.

Dear Sir, Oriental philosophy advocates that a man can attain eternal bliss only when he becomes able to create vacuum in mind at least for a while. I think that closing eyes even for a few seconds is the first step taken in that direction. 2. I am very thankful to you for your warm response to my comments on your poem. Ratnakar Mandlik.
