Eid Mubarak*

This is festival of sacrifice
Reiteration of old promises
If they are not fulfilled
And yet you are not misled

You have firm commitment
And live in present age
With credence to no rumors
And leading with honor

It is time to renew
And view
What the religion has taught
And why are we caught?

The religion of 5 prayers a day!
Simple living and high ideals on the way
We all wish you happy Eid*
Adhere to the principle of no greed

We may wish for heaven
And honestly driven
But at what cost
When thousands of our brethren are simply lost?

Let us think
And sink
Any apprehension
That is mushrooming as poison
