Dreams
Earth is the best place to lie down
Being still and solemn
Be it of wood or stone
Or of roses or thorn
Long long sleep it spells
To dreaming dreams endless
Of sun and moon and heaven
And of roses red, pink and brown
In a stately dome
Oh! how come
Such dreams
Be dreams
When one lies down
Not to be awake again
And that beguiles me dreaming night and day
While centuries turn away
