Don't Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Don't

Sweet lilting sound of a stream
I used to hear often in my dream
By the side of its cool water
We have met when I was a lover
You have promised me a nice life
To be my lover and sweet wife
You have kissed me on my lips
I was in your loves eternal bliss
Time flew like a cloud in wind
You made a niche in my mind
Summer came with its heat
By the stream we could not meet
You died of an unknown fever
Left me and the world forever
Sound of water rings in my ear
Night and day I wail out of fear
No more I wish to go that place
Where you came with much grace
And no more I like to hear
Sound of stream, loud and clear.
