Depend On Self Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Depend On Self

Rating: 5.0

Age takes over
As arthritic pain
In the joints
Simple tasks
Of yesteryears
Turning into
Miraculous feats
Impossible
To accomplish.

Opening a bottle
Of medicine pills
Placing a small bag
In the luggage
Compartment
Let alone
Threading the needle
Tough becomes life
Hard to face.

There's no cure
They say
Take more pills
To kill pain
Simplify tasks
Changing habits
Depend on self
And for travel
Call for assistance.

The pa\in we can feel in our joints tells us we are getting older. A great poem.
