Deja Vu Poem by Edwina Reizer

Deja Vu

I've been here before. I know I have
but I can't remember when.
I can feel that strange sensation
that comes to me and then
as quiet as it came it went away,
leaving an empty spot.
It was a flash, A fleeting glimpse
of someplace that I forgot.

I've seen this before. I know not where?
My eyes remember the sight.
I can see the scene before me
that brings to me a light,
a flicker that leaves me all too soon,
not knowing from where it came.
Surely, I'm not imagining these things
and I know that I am sane.

I've heard this before. The sound repeats
and echoes in my brain.
I can hear the voice that made the sound
but it doesn't ever remain.
I try my best to bring it back
from wherever it did go.
But, alas it now escapes me
and so I do not know

the source of all these happenings.
They must be a part of me,
lives I must have lived before
are the glimpses that I see.
Deja vu...Deja vu
come again to me.
Intrigue me with your strange allure.
Make my soul be free.
