Death Of My Dog Wiggy Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Death Of My Dog Wiggy

My dear old boxer dog died shattering my heart
Grief and longing for him flooding my thoughts
With no reprieve from plumbing depths of sorrow.
How I miss him with such overwhelming anguish
No more daily walks enjoying his boisterous fun
Hearing him bark, knowing he is adventurous and happy.
Walking best friends through ancient Saxon woodlands
Seeing wildlife, deer, badger, squirrels, and rabbits.
Cocking his leg marking trees and sniffing for scents
Tail wagging with excitement meeting other dogs.
My delightful loyal companion giving unquestioned love
Lifting my spirits and engulfing my heart with joy.
Each day with him bright and happy, full of promise.
How I miss you, dear old Wiggy, my loyal friend.
