Daydream #2 Poem by Colter Castillo

Daydream #2

This old road this old road
I've driven several times
It's fine It's prime
But not in age time
I've seen better inklings
Of the freeman's freeway
Oh day jolly day
Jolly life jolly stay
Say, how can it be that
Y'all cannot see
That the time we stood and drank sangria
Was a front put on by me
I'd never want some ragged stranger
To fall right for his life
In a conniption of a stranger kind
Only for stranger minds

Love is the only way
Truth is the way to say
I'll learn not to keep both at bay
Someday

What a cut this was for a
Two bit shave and cut
And all the chicks outside the place
Start to sqwak and strut
Its nuts how you can find nothing
Of value in due time
When every solid companion
Has left just in their prime
Oh fine its real down
Its real mood its real sin
When the empty glass of champagne starts to
Grow so ever thin
Why the wayside is for folks who could be
From a foreign land
But every I chance I shake my hand
I'll find out more I guess
About me.

Love is the only way
Truth is the way to say
I'll learn not to keep both at bay
Someday

Can't you I'm tryin to love
Every single guy
I'm not shy to sit and sigh at all
Transgression on the fly
It's mine it's mine it's mine it's mine
Every single line
Controlling ever careful of
Everything in mind

I'll fly
