Queens Of Games Poem by Colter Castillo

Queens Of Games

Gather round the fires of passion
Through idle musings of the day
Transfigurate into night
And another moon of youthful daze

All the men they're well fed and trained
They know their job and do it well
They start a competition of swagger
Compensating an unknown quirk

But nothing triumphs more than this
When centered in the coliseum
Caesar a whole world away
Knew and built upon this might

The eyes have it and drift center
A primadona plethora
Get your latest pick tonight
Of jugglers and stuntmen fun

Social eccentricities
Are seen from space as a facade
But don't risk the breath of madness
Read abridged of what's unknown

But another thousand eyes in dark
Watch as lights make out action
And thinking frank can get you slain
Even if danger is on the horizon

This is the dance of sight and sound
The louder the better gets around
And in the desolate compound
The queens of games are to be found
