Dark Thoughts Poem by moon batchelder

dark thoughts in the shadows - i know
evil turns of mind;
wrong to wish him ill who has
my daughter's will confined.

should he disappear or die, i fear
i might rejoice.
thankful such bad thoughts are hidden
not expressed by voice.

did they come to pass these curses
would i be at cause?
not so long that's all i've done
no wrong, ..no broken laws.

but i know better. thoughts are precedent
to acts unkind
and guile includes dark thoughts and moods
and evil turns of mind.
