A Thousand Lines Of Poetry Poem by moon batchelder

A Thousand Lines Of Poetry

Rating: 5.0

a thousand lines of poetry
a thousand reasons to believe
in such a thing as muses singing
touching deepest part.

a thousand notions to explore,
emotions set in metaphors
upon the page, as tho a stage
for matters of the heart.

but what of these soliloquys,
if not that others pause to read
and find themselves in someone else's mind
so like their own.

perhaps this is the legacy
of all these lines of poetry,
to show our one-ness, life within
and know we aren't alone.

A delightful and honest summary of what compels us to write. It is sharing, however personal each poem may be.
