Crazy Poem by Rebecca Lyle

Crazy

Crazy

My mind had had enough, so it left for awhile.
Leaving me Alice in Wonderland, in a purple haze.
Into a hospital I went, where they gave me so many pills;
I turned into a tree, waiting to follow the rabbit through the maze.

Then Into a room, where one side grew larger,
The other got small, thought can't take this much longer.

They tied me to a bed, said you can't get up,
I screamed, try to keep me down, you ugly Mutt.
So they put me in room, all to myself,
padded with no light at all, all I thought about was, free-fall.

My leaves began to wither and die, and so was I.

Everyday I pleaded just let me go,
But the Doctors would say, sorry Alice, no.
Where is the key to getting out of Hell?
They said, here Alice all you have to do is ring the bell-
it is in your mind, and you have had it all this time.

Finally my mind came back from it's sabbatical,
Picked up the phone and made a little call.
Alice followed the rabbit into a hole,
And, me I was free and once again found my soul,
So my advice to you, if you ever see the rabbit, run!
