Heart Poem by Rebecca Lyle

Heart

Rating: 5.0

Heart

At first it is a presence in your body it seems foreign
As if it is not meant to be there, it can even make you sick for awhile
Then as the months pass, thankfully, it becomes part of you
The day comes when you feel Angel wings flutter in your body.

You become extremely silent waiting for the next one
When it does not come you feel extremely fearful
Because you know it is your sweet child that is there
Then again it begins and the fear seems to fade away,

Every day you find new changes happening in your body
And each day you know you are simply falling more in love
Praying becomes a constant thing for the sweet tiny soul
You suddenly realize they are more important than anything,

But it seems like years past, as you wait to see their face
When the day comes, with it, it brings so much pain
You're wondering, can you stand it, and feel like you can not
Finally your child is born and placed into your arms.

You look into their face, and swear you see an Angel there
Right then you know that your heart is stolen
Because that was God's plan from the very beginning
And your heart, you never want it back, we happily let it go.
