The Clock Poem by Rebecca Lyle

The Clock

Rating: 5.0

The Clock

Its timing is exactly precise
It is not off by even a second
You never hear it ticking
Until you become sick
It is starting the resetting
Then you hear it getting
Alarming louder each day
Ticking your life away,

You begin to relive your life
In dreams wondrous
Seeing you at every stage
Child, adult, middle age
Lastly, of course is old
Children, spouse, friends
But watching them go
Is worse tenfold.

The clock knows all
It is run by the keeper
Of all time and space
Creator of human race
We can ask no more
Then peacefully going
So live life to its best
Then you earned your rest.
