Children Of The Past Poem by Alexander Foald

Children Of The Past

Can you see the light after the sky gets dark?
Lights from the stars that are calling out to each other
I wish I can hear your voice even within the crowd
And our silhouettes will stay together

Down below the stairs
I’ve got my shadow out of its cage
Somehow it’s taking on my nerves
And beats me down to the floor

But if the sun never wakes
Then our dreams will never fade
So until the dawn steals back our time
We will choose to disappear into the night

My body, my soul
My heart contains no fault
And every single word you said
Will be memorized by the time it ends

Distance will not take you away
And time won’t leave our side today
Just remember who you are and why you’re there
I promise I’ll make up for you someday
