Cargo And Supplies Poem by Justin Gildow

Cargo And Supplies

I've been on this island
for a while
And it stretches for miles
and miles
I'm a soldier to my nation

Setting up camp
On this island
I hope my comrades know of
my plight

By the beach
I can see a plane in the sky
Reaching the island
It releases boxes from overhead
Parachutes softly help them land
Cargo and supplies have found their
way to me
Cargo and supplies have made their
way to me
Cargo and supplies have arrived for
me

As the plane turns around
From below, I wave
From above, the pilot waves

I'll survive for a while
I'll survive for many nights
Yet, I can't wait to be rescued

However
In the meantime
Cargo and supplies will make
living here on this island a
bit easier
At least for me
At least to me
