21 Gun Salute Poem by Justin Gildow

21 Gun Salute

Rating: 5.0

I dropp to one knee
I unbuckle my helmet
And I slam it to the ground
And I count my blessings
As firewords go off all around

I'm glad I don't feel like Sean Flynn
Here Today
Gone Tomorrow
And after that, never to be heard from again

Tonight
As the war is over
Peace has been retained
The lands over are safe again for romantics and star crossed lovers
I dream of what there is for me
But for me
I'm content with where I am

Tonight
As some are dreaming
As some are sleeping
The 21 gun salute goes off in the distance

The 21 gun salute goes off for the ones that were victorious
The 21 gun salute goes off for the ones that were lost
The 21 gun salute is remembered for you
The 21 gun salute is dedicated to me
