Carefree Lover Poem by Frank Adie

Carefree Lover

Rating: 5.0

We met, we slept and we had fun
I wanted you to stay, but you opted to run
I will not resort to self-pity and regret
Negative emotions are not for me to create.

I would have been heartbroken, but decided not to be
For he that goes for the honey, must endure the sting of the bee
I guess life with me is really not what you want
Thus you have taken your leave to continue your hunt

It is my hope that you find what you crave
For me, I cannot be affection starve
My door of love does not close with you
For I am naturally wired for men to woo.
