Breaking The Chains Poem by Edwina Reizer

Breaking The Chains

Corporate control of our economy
Has become the talk of today.
But corporate control of our economy
Has always been in our way.
It enslaves the masses to work for them
And insures their massive control.
It reduces the rights of its workers
Who try to climb out of their hole.

We are obsessed with election-based power
And cast our eyes on it.
While all the horrors of war and brutality
Are mounting while we sit
And wonder who will be president?
Will he change the world we’re in?
And this is how the game is managed
For the slaves who believe the spin.

And spin is what it is you know.
It’s what they do the best.
We listen to them with subservient thinking
And they will do the rest.
The rest includes chaos from greed
And destroying the law of our land.
Our constitution is being shredded
By the corporate controlling hand.

But the power that lives in the hearts of men
Can never be suppressed.
For the masses of disgruntled people
Are tired of being oppressed.
Someday soon they will find a way
To tear down corporate power.
It’s looming in the near future.
It will be our finest hour.

The pulse of our nation is quickening
And that can only mean one thing.
The patriotic flag bearers amongst us
Will destroy the corporate King.
