Breaking Dreamers Poem by Alex McCullough

Breaking Dreamers

Conjure up a night of mischief,
So we can engrave out there,
Trails of memories,
Which can only resemble the stars tonight.
Oh let's break through,
This chain of ordinary things,
Allowing the voices below to be heard,
Don't you think that might leave our mark in someone's heart?
Who's ready for a new sound,
Nothing that's ever been present before,
Hope you can handle its raging beat,
Because its gonna shake your world till there's nothing left.
Call out to those distant dreams,
Still waiting in your past,
Who live out each day and night,
Awaiting the sound of your voice.
Silent and cold like a lost breath,
Sitting in the corner of your soul,
Watching closely for that light,
The one which you can only light for them.
So..........don't throw away those sparks of ambition!
Gather up these forgotten dreamers,
So they might escape their nightmares,
Don't leave them all alone,
Where their sun is just a candle.
Oh break them out of the eternal darkness,
Let the light shatter it all to pieces,
So they can wake up,
And the same stars we see now.
