Rendezvous Poem by Alex McCullough

Rendezvous

I'll meet you somewhere down this road,
So we can roam around like lost lightning in the night,
An image of what we've lost still holds us,
But I feel us growing closer to our real selfs!
An agitating, exciting feeling,
Builds up inside me when I'm about to start,
Making it harder for me to get through the day,
But I'll always ascend through it all,
Just to keep moving towards what's in front of me.
The call you've been waiting for may not be answered today,
It could even crash you into the depths of loneliness,
Though with all of this, still hold that desire tightly in your hands,
Cause someday it'll come true for you!
Keep walking till we meet somewhere down this road,
So we can scatter our dreams in the night like the stars,
They might disappear with the dawn of a new day,
But at least they'll always have a home in our souls!
The closer we get to where we're headed for,
The harder it'll be to reach it,
But I'll never stop trying to go forward.
It's something only I can conquer,
Leaving me tired and with breaths of desperation,
So let's pray that we can overcome the darkness inside,
And never lose sight of what we're aiming for.
It'll take a toll on you,
No matter how many obstacles you evade,
But never take what you go through forgranted,
Because it'll only push you closer towards your goal.
