Boyhood Poem by Ronald Brissette

Boyhood

I was a young man with loves that were
Few
What loves I had were deep and
True

I loved the birds of the
Day
At night they would not lead me
A stray

Nature was my love, people made me
Blue
All what I learned was from natures
School
Far greater than the golden
Rule

Then came to my life the unthinkable
Day
For I was a man and it was time to go
Away

My heart first time
Shattered
I was lost, to me nothing
Mattered

For here was my home, my life and my
Heart
It was here my first love got its
Start.

I laid down my boyhood, here at this
Place.
Play time is over, I have lost this
Race

The boy grow to a
Man
It was not my
Plan

The boy smiles at me as he fades into the
Trees
