Bouquet Of Roses Poem by Silence Dogood

Bouquet Of Roses

You once gave me a bouquet of roses.
With a note tucked deep inside.
You told me that you'd love me forever.
Untill the last rose died.

I searched for meaning in those words.
And walked down to the lake.
Filling a glass with fresh spring water.
And realized one rose was fake.

And as the days came and went.
I held that one rose near.
Untill one day you told me to.
Hold it before a mirror.

And looking before into the glass.
You touched your lips to mine.
And whispered 'look what what beauty is.'
And said a clichéd line.

But even when our time was up.
And we drifted on the lake.
There in my hand remained the rose.
The rose that had been fake.
