Belle Poem by Poppi Sykes

Belle

There is no gateway
Just a hype of opinions
I'm scared of losing
She can't leave today

I'm not religious
But I will still Pray
Because I know she's naive
And I can't let her stray

She's part of my family
And there she will stay
I promised myself
I won't let her get away

I can't tell anyone
Im not the kind to betray
But playing like that
Would leave me in debt
And I'd have to pay

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was about my cousin. I adore her as much as she adores me. people say there's gateway drugs but i don't think this is true, its just a matter of opinions that effect one's belief.
One day my cousin called me up and said that she had tried something and I felt insecure. i didn't shout at her or pity her because that would push her away. I'm scared that she would go too far, especially with the people that she's risking with.
