'Be-Longing' Poem by NiQi Deveaux

'Be-Longing'

This sleepy little fishing town
That hasn't got street lights
Is like home to me though far away
I long to linger through the nights

The air is five degrees cooler
Than any place I've been
It's so relaxed and peaceful
The likes I've never seen

I want to move all my belongings
So my longing will come to rest
Make a home here by the sea shore cliffs
And feather up my nest

When I settle here I'll call my love
To snuggle by the fire
To gaze upon stars and moon so full
Til were ready to retire

Then to the bed we lay our heads
Fingers tracing silhouettes
Of the skin encasing our spirits there
Making no time for regrets

To mingle and dance in sweet romance
Tangled in sheets fresh from the line
So fresh and new, two spirits who
Explore and intertwine

Lay breathless and closer than ever before
Bodies expired and so content
Fingers tracing again in soothing caress
Drenched in magic, love and sweat
