Bapu You Could Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Bapu You Could

Rating: 5.0

Bapu* you could have lived little more
Now we know how your words could explore?
Create magical effect in the hearts of terrorists
Even change the cruel hearts of atheists

We are ignorant about the word 'pardon'
We resort to comic picture and paint you in cartoon
Convey the message through mimickery
But with a relevance of it for an adversary

What would have happened to world?
If you were born in mountains so cold
No existence of love and never known about freedom
World would have known it seldom

Where only bullets form melody
Where people die for somebody
Always in captivity and no voice
What could you give them in form of promise?

The mountains could provide safe heaven
For all those who needed calm and peace even
They could have risen taller than the big hills
Creating peace ripples with strong will

Bapu you should have been in those ravaging parts
Where only bullets rule and human lives depart
As if one piece of onion is shelved off
Human life is reduced to laugh

Not a pen work here but only Kalashnikov rifles
Life is so scared and remains mentioned in files
Not one two or ten die daily for selfish pride
Even small child holds rifle and never try to hide

They fire at target and silence the human life
It is rugged mountain and life is full of strife
Bapu you will have to be borne with deadly weapon
As life will not be spared on the paper or gesture coupon

Even in civilized areas people have become more deadly
People here too not feel safe and lead quiet happily
In day time murder takes place and women are raped
Even in that case mountains are safe and needs to be clapped

The chiefs are wedded to old traditional rules
But they are deeply religious and understand it in full
If their homeland is taken by force to drive them away
Their struggle for just peace can't be stayed

Muzzammil Shah Very heart touching poem, and each word of it expresses the grievances in the form of pain, addressing our National Father in such a tone that can wring any heart. Your words seem coming our heart slowly and give an impression upon us. Your message is valuable. The world needs peace and non-violence, because bloodshed has been too much.
