Baltimore's Schools Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Baltimore's Schools

Rating: 5.0

The schools are failing
City schools are a mess
No more cursive writing
No more being the best
No heat in the winter
Not cool when it's hot
Kids have to worry
Afraid they might get shot
The guns keep coming
School police unarmed
Tough to protect them
Keep them from harm
You fail they pass you
Can't leave you behind
Don't have to learn
Just graduate when its time
So much money spent
Year after year
Educators dooming students
Never shedding a tear
Out into the world
The wretched ones go
The diplomas they carry
Are only for show

Yes, a nationwide problem. I have read stories about people finishing college, awarded a soft degree, and not being able to function in society as they cannot read and write! Sad indeed.

it is sad that education has taken such a bad shape worldwide. A socially relevant poem
