At Arm's Length Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

At Arm's Length

Rating: 5.0

I tried to hide emotions
But it was clouded with confusions
More I tried to solve the equation
Less was it near the completion

“Was I perfect in life” I questioned
To the self I reiterated and mentioned
Yes, not perfect but imperfect not either
Life was made simple and smoother

It was question of going ahead
Make life comfortable and lead
The people around were ready for flesh
I needed to be over cautious

What made me to retaliate in same term?
Not violently or with body language in turn
My approach was of bold initiative
That was very much firm and indicative

People remained at arm’s length
Such was my scene and strength
No one could care to deceive
As I was clever and ready to receive

Well, I tried to be straightforward
There was no need to be die-hard
I stood little compromising
Something short of less promising
