Another Name Poem by Autumn Christina Adair

Another Name

Like the sky darkens and night descends
Like the birds fly and widen their wings
Like the little child cries and depends
You will forever be my friend

As the glow from the fire glitters in the midst
As the steam from the lake rising against the fumes
Fireflies dance around the flames
Today we will play our silly games

A glorious sight from the blood stained sky
The last star fades as we say our goodbyes
I haven’t lost the touch to feel
Another’s warm against my skin

One night and day gone again
Gone like there was no yesterday
Smile with the tears
And laugh with the risk
Just another name, ticked off the list
