Anger And Content Poem by Judy Meibach

Anger And Content

Rating: 5.0

Given our vaccilating
friendship, relationship
I cannot reconcile
my inconsistent feelings towards you.

I have had great reverence, affection
and adulation
towards you over the years,
but our journeys,
both individually and together
have been more turbulent
than the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt.

Up and down
mountains and through
marshy land,
I have gotten
wet and muddied
from my head to to my toes,
both externally and internally.

I stay in the marshland
because I like it.
I feel content.
it is what comforts me,
or so I think.

And yet, it would be far superior
to walk the mainland
alone and with my thoughts
searching new horizons
which are less tumultuous

where I can be free
of the conflict.

This reminds me of different chapters in our lives. Where I can be free of the conflict...to choose where we are comfortable and have a residing peace in the choice taken. A lovely poem, from the heart.; D
