An Ode To Death Poem by J22 Poet

An Ode To Death

I have always feared you
But in time, I realize that you are not all bad
You are truly fair and just
Some say that you take more than you give
But you are not the cause of injustice in this world
In truth, it is life that causes the damage
Think, if there was no life, than there would be no sadness when death came
You cannot miss what you have never have
You do not cause greed, in fact, it is life that does this
Life is truly unfair
It grants long and prosperous lives for cheaters
But short and miserable ones for those who are cheated
Just as the sun causes blindness
The moon leads travelers in the dark
Just as fields of corn host pests
But empty fields provide a place to lie down
Life causes greed
But your only fault is that you are just
You, my friend, you only clean up after the mess of your disastrous counterpart
I will welcome you when you come to pick me up
