An Honor Being A Veteran's Child Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

An Honor Being A Veteran's Child

Our flag waving in an early evening breeze, honoring in silence
all our men and women who've fought and died protecting us and
America.

Looking out the windows at this symbol of our nation's peace,
seeing it being reflected in panes of glass, becoming two flags
because of where it's seen in the corner of a senior library.

Remembering stories of our Dad when in the Navy, saving many lives,
proud and loving him for his bravery when we were so young and
innocent, unable to protect ourselves.

What an honor it is to be the son or daughter of a Veteran here in
the United States of America, illegals will never understand the
meaning of patriotism like we do.
