Actions And Words Poem by louis rams

Actions And Words

Actions and words

When you get older and sitting at the table Alone
Is when we think of our actions and words towards our
family members and the pains finally sink in and you wish
That it could all be taken back.
So this poem is for those times!

Actions and words
Mother! I am so sorry for ever doubting you and all the
Pains I had put you through.
Arguments and misunderstandings are the worst of all
Because to me they was small., but like a child the small
Ones tend to grow.
This mother- now I know.
Mother! If I could take back every action, every word
My heart would be free as a bird.
But I waited too long and now you're gone and
The heartache lingers on.
This is not meant just to the mothers, but aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers
It starts off with words then an action is created leaving
All parties devastated.
When time has passed and you've calmed down
The stupidity of this fight can be found.
Pride will tell you: well they should apologize first"
But with time it will get much worse.
Pride will not pay your bills or make your life much better
So one of you must surrender. (or compromise)
Everything in life is two sided (e.g. - good, bad -rich, poor
Healthy, unhealthy -etc. etc.)
Don't just sit and wait - make amendments before it's too late!

As long as we have time, and life, and breath, it's not too late- - But as you said, it's better not to wait. A poem of profound truth.

it's like with the environment. See a bit of rubbish and pick it up.
