Abhinandan Poem by Dipy Hermonite

Abhinandan

He's always polite,
And he's ever so tall,
You'll never find him get into a brawl,
Won't utter a word,
That'll make you feel small,
He has it in him - do you have it in you?

He always gets up when a lady walks in,
Shyly he smiles,
No indecent grin,
Soft in his tone,
He's a brother to all,
He has it in him -
Do you have it in you?

He's of the kind that children do love,
Sweet as a Brooke
As mild as a dove,
Sometime he pens down a poem or two,
He has it in him - do you have it in you?

Just the other day
He did a scramble,
Chased after someone who'd taken a gamble,
He took on a fighter more modern than his,
For he has it in him - do you have it in you?

He shot down the fighter who'd threatened his skies,
His plane too went down,
And the enemy said 'Die',
They tried to lynch him but his lips did not cry,
For he has it in him - do you have it in you?

Bloodied blind folded he stood straight and tall,
Answering politely but not giving all,
Fearless undaunted ne'er once did he sway,
For he has it in him - do you have it in you?

Today the world watched him,
In awe and with pride,
As he walked through the gates,
Looking so dignified,
He'll be a role model,
For the young of today,
For he has it in him - do you have it in you?
