Dipy Hermonite Poems

The train moved swiftly through the night,
O'er rivers, fields and glens.
The girl was rocking in her sleep,
Smiling every now and then.
...

When I see your lovely eyes
My heart just skips a beat
And when you've got that dazzling look
Even 'Juliet' doesn't look sweet
...

On the slopes of the mountains
The pine trees - looking so swell
The breeze through them seems to be singing
The birds look so happy and well
...

Baby whenever you come before me
You really set me on fire
My breathing becomes ten times faster
And my fever goes higher and higher
...

If there was no weapon
No gun, no spear, no knife
Would my Earth be safer
And would it have no strife?
...

Sitting out here, I’m feeling so lonely
All my friends have gone a thousand miles away
Though the doors of life opened for us – together
Why does my step have to stagger at the very outset – today
...

For the first time in my life
I fell in love with a girl
She said she’d always be by my side
Whenever I needed her
...

Oh Dear Lord oh my God I've got back my glow,
Friends told me today it's the mirror you know!
T'was showing me a girth that I couldn't swallow,
The chin was all double with my eyes sunk in hollow,
...

He's always polite,
And he's ever so tall,
You'll never find him get into a brawl,
Won't utter a word,
...

'I loved the way she walked,
Adored the way she talked,
Couldn'twait to see her smiles,
To meet I'd travel miles.
...

Don't cry for me my dear ol' friends,
All clocks they stop their time,
Last night they stopped for someone else,
Today the call was mine.
...

Now you know what I could do?
You're petrified? Of just mild flu?
Didn't you know you'd crossed all bounds?
Spread hate across, on flimsy grounds?
...

The chill is mean,
The wind is keen,
The pine is green,
An' the sun ‘s not seen.
...

Did you ask as to why,
I go back to my day?
Reminisce all the time,
Keep the present at bay?
...

No matter what you say-
The skies are still blue,
The roses still red,
The music's still sweet,
...

You said that I should trust you,
You asked me ‘to believe',
But then you turned the other way,
And just left me to grieve? !
...

If I were my li'l dog ‘Max'
And if I were to vote,
I'd be at a loss I'm sure,
‘bout demonetised notes!
...

As the sun goes down again
on yet another day,
Has a decade passed us by?
Is that what they say?
...

Sapno ke mere Bharat mein
Hogi khub hariyaali,
Van ke jaanwar honge khush
Khush hongey ghar ke maali
...

We've sailed high seas,
We've ruled the skies,
Dived oceans deep,
Climbed mountains high.

Your World My Lord

The train moved swiftly through the night,
O'er rivers, fields and glens.
The girl was rocking in her sleep,
Smiling every now and then.
Though the rags that she wore on her body,
Had seen many a better day.
She had been told by her daddy,
It had been destined for them that way.

'My Child', he would say,
'Though I love you more than anything in my life,
What can I do - my darling - my sweetheart,
When even God doesn't see how we strive.
I have to work hard each day,
In order that we may,
Get a little bit to eat, before we go off to sleep,
And we pull through another day'.

This World's been moving through time,
Through nuclear explosions and hell.
We've come a long way, since the gold rush days,
Yet for gains our daughters we'll sell.
The sons being raised by their daddies,
Would have seen many a better day.
Had they not been groomed to be baddies,
To steal, to rape and to slay.

O my Lord, don't you see,
How this World that you've made needs advice?
Show us the path, the way it should be,
Sans avarice and malice and vice.
We've slaughtered, abused and we've slayed,
Our morals have blown in the glade.
Please give us the sense, to get out of these dense
Dark clouds of Hades we've made.

Dipy, your words are very moving. I enjoyed reading your poem. Thank you for getting in touch. You write from the heart. That is where poetry should come from. Keep writing.

Dipy- Of your two poems, I preferred 'Child'. It is touching and sad. I saw a sight in Naples, Italy that was almost similiar. However in my case, the child had a despicable mother instead of a hard working father. You can read the poem I wrote in reference to it titled 'Circumvesuviana Lamentation'. Your poem 'The Silently Weeping Tree, ' has its moments, however personally I have not been one to humanize objects or animals in lieu of human suffering. There are too many people suffering to concern myself with other life forms. Interesting poetry-Keep at it! -Pasquale
