A Worn-Out Repertoire Poem by Jessel Jane Tevar Toring

A Worn-Out Repertoire

Tired of hearing
the monologue of my head;
consuming every thought,
corroding every memory,
repressing every chance
of hearing another melody,
uttering another name.
Your name:
a repeating monologue
I could not replace.

Just read your more recent poems. Hope they don't really speak of your heart's state in real life. I once watched a movie which had a line like...if someone hurt you, you turn him/her into literature. If this is true, you've just come up with some honest, heartfelt but great reads lately. I will definitely read more of your poems. Keep writing!

...filling our thoughts with something that we like the most will help us forget something that we don't like to think about...
