A Time Traveler's Dilemma Poem by Dave Alan Walker

A Time Traveler's Dilemma

Rating: 5.0

If I could go back in time
does it mean
I have already been

If I have already been
have I changed what I went back to change
to what I see now

If I have changed time
to what I see now
does it mean I changed time
to what I wanted to change

This great piece really makes the mind turn... love it! Good one Dave! Can't help, sometimes, pondering if we all are in a sort of spiritual revolving-door, looking for the exit, that perhaps we've passed dozens of times.

Some philosophers believe that time is circular, it has no beginning and no end, therefore just keeps going round and round - this suggests that we have all been here before.

Your dilemma is nothing but a universally shared feeling Dave. Despite the hurdles every traveler moves on and the ultimate triumph alone testifies the why and where of our daring steps. A small but intricately well woven net of soft but strong filaments....

What one is now is a result of all the actions and decisions made in the past. If one could go back and change just one action of the past, the consequences are not easily decipherable. Your final question will remain. One needs to live by all actions of the past and apply the experience to decisions made now. Great poem with beautiful time logic. Thank you.

A wonderful write, reminds me of Mahatma Gandhi's famous words - Be the change you want to see in the world.
