A Thank You Poem by Paul WilsonSuffield

A Thank You

I get up in the morning and clean clothes are there
Breakfast is on the table, when I go downstairs.
Now somebody does this day after day
And takes care of my needs in every possible way.
If I’m in trouble, or worse unwell
To care for me they would crawl back from hell.
You love these people for the things they have done
But unlike you, not two, I have one.
Don’t cry for me and please don’t be sad
For the one that cares is both Mum and Dad.
This may not be easy for some people to do
So give them a boost by saying “THANK YOU”
Now these two words are really quite small
But they show how you feel, for them giving their all.
If you are like me and have but one parent
Give thanks to the gods, for they are heaven sent.
