A Stumble Poem by Neil Stephens

A Stumble

You are a total sensory overload
That blinds my eyes on a darkened road
One that chokes and narrows my throat
And makes my mind dream, disassociate and float
When i see you I can not voice how I feel
I can not display emotion more real
I try to voice my desires so clear
But when I'm around you my emotions take the steer
And I fall into a vacuum Of uncoordinated rhythm
Thoughts fly so fast I can't stay up with 'em
They tumble and fall
And get slammed to a wall
Then totally inebriated try to recover
And blurt out 'I love you' I would discover
I'll keep trying and maybe one day you'll see
The stumbling blocks and remove them from me
And I'll get those words out right
And win your love without a fight
