A Smile Poem by Hazel Durham

A Smile

Rating: 5.0

Morning is her time for reflection,
Light filters in the windows while inside she is screaming
At her past of brutal rejection
As the teasing light is streaming.

She is never good enough, but she keeps dreaming
Of becoming somebody, only it is just a dream,
Reality is the coldness of each day
With her storm of emotions she lives life her way,

A fight for her right to smile,
On an empty road of always having to go another mile,
She faces the loneliness with her nervous smile,
As she stares at her past like a private file,

Of being an outsider along every mile
Of fake friends and shallow men but still she smiles,
Like the sun is always rising,
The ocean in constant movement surmising,

Forests embrace her into natures heart,
She listen to echoes of her grandparents time of horse and cart,
The unfolding of time is her loving chart,
Love lingers in her fragile soul and heart,

The journey is tough with too many miles,
God and nature wraps their arms around her and smiles,
A message of hope that she will never be alone,
Along the empty road of tough miles,

She smiles!

smile like a baby along the empty road of tough miles is very difficult when loneliness crosses the soul

A Beautiful path may be empty but full of hopes. She is not alone when she could feel the nature walking along with her. Beautiful echoes may keep her cart moving. No wonder she is smiling at the wake of dawn. Beautiful poem.Loved reading it.
