A Pilgrimage Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

A Pilgrimage

Rating: 5.0

With flowers or thorn or pain
"Nay, I cannot say, towards that place solemn
That our feet trod upon and seemed
Like no other ground of this earth upon we ever walked
She, with a cup of bliss on her lips
Wandered out into the darkness in search of peace
And we, with an ocean of tears in our eyes wandered out in solemn night
Into that holy funeral home with her mortal remains to explore the truth
Reaching where upon prayed for her soul be laid to rest
And earnestly did our heart beseech guidance at this hour august
Below rose of smile was falling
Above tears were streaming down his face with the sun setting
The most invincible and lovable of all things
He thought would now buckle down to dusts
Before him now was a gloomy world
Streaming with no sunshine, lively with quietude
Above rays of LED, to right, to left and down the ground
Were streaming down faces solemn and cold
And it was moon soft, fair and still
Lighting up his shadowy eyes in dole
Looking at her calm and kind face
Fresh and beautiful still in silence
Caressing her cheeks and closed eyes convulsively
And sobbing and shedding tears in between not inconspicuously
Beside that sovereign and eternal ground of hers
Wherein awaiting us all soon or latter a pilgrimage sublime and timeless
O distant world, so near and so far
Seeing his tears, not silent were stars in their peaceful splendor
They were twinkling
Yet looked mystical, pale and withering
For night seemed to have been consumed by us in full
And what remained was the twilight that would bring a day mournful
Softly trees here around were rustling
And we looked up and saw songster with carol ready to bring in day king
We were now left alone and night,
Moon and stars did endure but for a moment
And vanished where we couldn't follow
For the truth is a mystery and always lives through
Beyond the twilight and the dawn
Deep in the hidden glory of heaven
O day, O sun, O moon say not
She is no more in our sight
For my friend shall be left alone
A child of dear mother now forever forsaken

Emotional and heartfelt final farewell to a noble soul. This is indeed a great tribute to a friend's mother whose absence will be felt by those who knew her and loved her. May her soul RIP. Thanks, Deepak ji. And we, with an ocean of tears in our eyes wandered out in solemn night Into that holy funeral home with her mortal remains to explore the truth And it was moon soft, fair and still Lighting up his shadowy eyes in dole Looking at her calm and kind face

Fresh and beautiful life still in silence perceives truth about amazing effect of life. Beyond the twilight and the dawn and deep in the hidden glory of heaven truth is imagined. Death is truth and this brings separation with own affectionate persons. Death of mother gives pain to her children. An amazing poem is brilliantly penned that brings emotion...10
