A Piece Of My Heart Poem by Cherry Orwell

A Piece Of My Heart

I hath loved him more than eager love's bay,
whose love for the sky shone brighter than the sun.
I hath loved him more than the oceans,
the way they showed their love for the shore.

I truly loved him
but with nothing in return,
i give you my condolences
for your next return.

I had wanted his heart,
chained with a bow,
tied on the very highest peak.
I had wanted his heart
to be drown with my love,
be addicted to my taste,
adicted to the days we spent.

Now, as time goes,
his love faded,
his love flew
where i couldnt find it.

I searched high and low,
in the oceons,
in the sea.
They told me,
his love has faded in the eyes of the sun.
I begged the sun,
as he was dear,
instead came the reply
his love, said the sun,
was in the skies above.
I ran to the clouds,
asked them a favor,
but clearly they knew what i was after.
they said,
go home, you worthless child,
his love for you has faded.
he now belongs to the wind.
I raced to the wind,
requested for his love,
but in return
received a warm smile.
he told me,
said the wind,
that he hast loved a woman
more than love could be.
He could only be found
in her arms that weak.

A mission,
as clearly as it sounds
made me run.
I ran to the cities,
high and low
just to find his missing piece.
I picked up a note
on the end of the table,
only to find
he moved out with the woman to Italy,
the piece of his heart,
the memories,
he had only done it
for her.
