A Holy War Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

A Holy War

Rating: 2.8

Whole country woke up to a holy call
Young and old ready to die and scale a wall
No one thought of personal gain
The corruption was worry main

What did he think about India’s will?
People were out to destroy and kill
Popular waves strengthened his belief
The common men wanted relief

No authoritarian rule can last
The disintegration may be very fast
The country may break into pieces
If allowed to exist with so much misses

The revolution is sweeping across the globe
The corruption and laundering is needing probe
They will find no shelter on earth
They have to pay price with their death

How any may perish in this holy war?
It is certain they may be remembered as shining stars
The poor is needing cloth and bread
We have tortured to him to live like dead

No one may bother if you live in luxury
Do not make others to live in misery
They are your brethrens and not adversary
You should have provided comforts and help necessary

Why the popular base is eroded?
Why so much anger and anguish is exploded?
Human tolerance is stretched to last end
Complete change and new order is the visible trend

Country may be freed from unwanted elements
It may augment the need and really supplement
World is intensely watching the sweeping change
Let it not turn bloodiest and stand properly managed
