Just because you hate her or him
Either from a grudge or just a whim,
Or maybe because of something you did do
Don't get your children to hate them too.

Just because your feelings were hurt
Because of someone who dug up some dirt,
Unto that attack do not ever cave
Don't let that dirt fill in a grave.

Just because someone hurt your feelings
Maybe from lies or from bad dealings,
Maybe because they cheated or lied
Always allow your children to pick their side.

Just because you have been done wrong
And with no one can you get along,
Maybe everyone you know you hate
Please don't let that hatred be your children's fate.
