061310b Unseen Tragedy

tears can't extinguish the flame
raging turning once beautiful
to ashes for reason of difference
i couldn't imagine barbaric did
oh! prayers didn't suffice anger
run away was the only savior left

too weak to reach promise land
lay dying and whispering cruelties
some are too young to understand
their cries can't be heard; we are deaf
their agony can't be seen; we are blind
we can't afford to meddle; their trouble
