Paizli Palmrose Poems

Soft and furry
Meows and paws
Bouncing pouncing
Attacking with claws
...

You’ve been an infant
Helpless yet growing
A toddler on the move
So much to be knowing
...

I’m lonely in a crowded place
For I see not a friendly face
My words of greeting are ignored
The crowd seems so very bored
...

I do not think we realize
To what extent we criticize
We take for granted someone’s feelings
And talk about their off time dealings
...

A nice fat worm
A fishing pole
A nice quiet
Fishing hole
...

I see a world
Where love exists
The source
Of everything
...

Pardon me for a moment while I write this little poem
I know that you are tired and don’t want to be alone
The urge has just now struck me to put these words to rhyme
Hush your crying and I’ll be with you in just a little time
...

On the brink of destruction
We turned back the clock
We opened our hearts
Annihilation we stopped
...

When will we wake up? Are we all insane? Is there really no hope? Who is to blame? We go about life with blinders on cause that’s how we’ve been trained.

Life isn’t about the price of gas, the newest fashion the latest craze, not about politics or the wars being waged.
...

Honeybee honeybee
From whence comes your energy
Busy buzzing all day long
Sing your little buzzing song
...

Took my first step
Just the other day
At first I just stood there
Then I started to sway
...

Hey little fella
Come along with me
I’ll show you a world
Of possibility
...

Summer time has got to be
My favorite time of year
I play outside all day long
While Daddy drinks his beer
...

What makes a child hate life so
That he’ll throw it all away
That makes the pain so intense
That loss of life seems gain
...

Up up up
Went the ball
Down down down
Came the window
...

What makes our kids
The way they are
Directionless
They won’t go far
...

Two people hold each other tight
Then gently make love through the night
Not knowing that the love they share
Will leave her womb no longer bare
...

I was thinking of you earlier today
Wondering what I would have to say
Because I knew, you would ask me for a poem
But I couldn’t find any I’d written at home
...

Running running
Tripped and fell
Screaming screaming
Comes the yell
...

Love won’t protect us from the evil all around
It won’t protect out children from the dangers that abound
Love won’t guarantee a life of happy endings
Or that when it’s given it will be returned

Kitten

Soft and furry
Meows and paws
Bouncing pouncing
Attacking with claws
Now so tired
Curled in a ball
Sleep little kitty
Careful don’t fall
