We Live Our Lives Like It’s Alright Poem by Paizli Palmrose

We Live Our Lives Like It’s Alright

When will we wake up? Are we all insane? Is there really no hope? Who is to blame? We go about life with blinders on cause that’s how we’ve been trained.

Life isn’t about the price of gas, the newest fashion the latest craze, not about politics or the wars being waged.

We live our lives like it’s alright
To pass judgment on another’s life
We don’t take a look inside
For fear of what we might find
Ever we judge and criticize
Believing someone else’s lies
We’re taught to hate taught to fear
Kept confused we don’t think clear
Religion with all its high ideals
Has wrought more havoc on our world
Caused more suffering and pain
Then says, “The devil is to blame”
Government officials ever lie
Keeping their activities on the sly
Then send our children off to war
The insanity of it all ignored
It is our choice so why complain
When we allow it we’re to blame
