Marion Perrotta Biography

Growing up in a small northern town in Alberta Canada, and although I was surrounded by a large and loving family, I always felt the need to escape. Not from the ones that doted on me, but rather an escape to my “self.” Writing poetry became my refuge and my passion. As 40 years flew by and the chapters of my life unfolded, I collected and saved all of my written reflections. These are a reminder of where I have been, what I have learned and most importantly who I have become. RollerCoaster, is a recollection through laughter and tears, of the ups and downs of life and its lessons. Something in these verses may strike a familiar chord because I believe that life is really just a rollercoaster ride and we are all on it. *Press Release* Life is full of highs and lows, moments of joy and sorrow, uncertainty and bold optimism. Rollercoaster (published by Trafford Publishing) by Marion Perrotta, is a collection of poems that capture these events and emotions over the course of 40 years. As a young girl growing up in a small northern town in Alberta, Canada, Perrotta was surrounded by a large and loving family. Yet she felt driven to find a life of her own, leading her to seek refuge in the written word. Poetry allowed her moments of absolute truth to her inner self, and it became her refuge and passion. As life passed, Marion continued to retreat to these lines, recording moments of pain and jubilation alike. Now this body of work, collected and saved over all those years, serves as a true reflection of her life: where she’s been, what she has learned, and who she has become. “Looking up and looking back onto the track over my shoulder, I realize this crazy ride has served to make me bolder.” Whether 13 or 93, readers will find truth in these words to which they can relate and will be happy they went along for the ride.)

True Friend

True Friend

Do you swear my friend?
To be there to the end.
Looking into the heart of me
Patiently waiting for me to be
the very best that I can be.

You’re eyes will see what I didn’t see
Your words will tell what I couldn’t hear
Your heart will feel what I can’t feel
As you lovingly teach me
how to be
the very best that I can be.

The lessons in life are an uphill climb
and we know that all of that takes time.
We suffer, we grow, we share, we learn.
Both of us standing in line for our turn
to hold up the mirror for each to see
the very best that we can be.

You may not have told me,
but when you must scold me;
it’s not meant to hurt me
not meant to desert me..
You’re only wanting for me to be
the very best that I can be.

So for you my confidante
my sun, my rain,
though my heart now and then may be filled with pain...
I hold out my hand and my heart to you
for being my friend, for seeing me through.
For all you are and all you do;
my trusted friend,
I sincerely thank you
